After the initial firing of the clay at low temperature, reactive glazes are applied to the stoneware, giving it a glossy appearance and a gradient of colors. The ceramic pieces are submerged in water when taken out of the oven, creating a thermal shock that produces the desired crackled effect. The MAGMA collection draws its inspiration from the heart of the volcanic crater of Mount Fuji in Japan. In its MINT variation, the vein-like network mimics the craters and reflects the thermal depression resulting from the firing technique, much like magma forms after the volcano's fusion.
