The Billi Bi adventure kicked off in 1936 when Søren and Evelyn Friis decided to launch their kids' shoe-making workshop in a former stables in Vibevey, just north-west of Copenhagen. Fast-forward a few years, and they began offering a range of women's shoes that now forms the backbone of Billi Bi's core collection. Drawing on quality and craftsmanship as their core values, Søren and Evelyn poured all their imagination into bringing customers unparalleled leather and elegant, creative styles. Their son Carl Friis studied shoe-making construction and design at theprestigious ARS SUTORIA school before taking over the company helm. Carl was soon hailed as a rising star on the Danish sceneby the Italian press. Carsten Friis, Carl's own son, joined the company in 1993 after studying economics and law. His passion for contemporary, youthful, trail-blazing shoes gave rise to the Billi Bi brand. Today, Carl and Carsten work hand in hand to design their ranges, pooling their experience, inspiration and ideas to craft chic, elegant collections of everyday styles. With each pair entirely made in Europe, Billi Bi shoes are crafted from the finest Italian leather. The brand is now known as a pioneer in its field, and a major name in the Danish footwear market.
