Antik Batik Women

Gabriella Cortese, creator of the Antik Batik brand, has a traveller's soul. Italian by birth and Parisian by adoption, she has travelled the world. In Bali, batik, a thousand-year-old silk printing technique worn on trousers, tops, or dresses by all women, inspired her first range of sarongs. To the word batik, Gabriella added 'antik', "for the rhyme and because it sounds good in all languages". With the discovery of India, she explored other skills: embroidery and bandhani, an artisanal dyeing process. In 1992, Antik Batik was born. Praised by celebrities and all women seeking authenticity, Antik Batik has become the emblem of a bohemian and chic way of life.
