The story begins in 2018, almost at hand's reach, when Marie learned the basics of the craft from a shoemaker, in direct proximity, without detours. Very quickly, she set up a few meters away, observed, repeated, adjusted, until she drew her own lines and gave birth to a first collection, still instinctive but already assertive. Then came a more constrained period, in Normandy, in a small space that forced her to focus on the essentials. The need for openness was felt, more light, more air. Lisbon then imposed itself, almost naturally, as a new point of balance, a move that changed the rhythm without breaking the momentum. From then on, everything came together. The project became denser, more intimate too, with the arrival of children and the full involvement of Alexandre, who joined the adventure wholeheartedly. A construction by several, anchored in reality, where work, life, and time eventually move forward in the same rhythm.
Working with leather was not immediate; it was learned slowly, almost in reverse. The gestures came with time: saddler's stitch, edge dyeing, marking – all techniques mastered one by one, until they became a language in themselves. A practice that is not driven by urgency, but by longevity, with the simple idea that the craft is built without ever truly ending.
The leathers follow this same standard. Selected from European tanneries for their structure and character, often vegetable-tanned using natural extracts, they evolve over time, developing a patina, transforming without degrading. Nothing superfluous, no harsh treatments, just a living material, chosen as much for what it becomes as for what it is.
