The story begins in 2018, almost within reach, when Marie learns the basics of the craft from a shoemaker, in direct proximity, without detours. Very quickly, she settles a few metres away, observing, repeating, adjusting, until she traces her own lines and gives birth to an initial collection, still instinctive but already defined. Then comes a more constrained phase in Normandy, in a small space that forces a focus on the essentials. The need for openness is felt—more light, more air. Lisbon then emerges, almost naturally, as a new point of balance, a move that changes the rhythm without breaking the momentum. From this point, everything draws closer. The project becomes denser, more intimate as well, with the arrival of children and the involvement of Alexandre, who fully joins the adventure. A collaborative construction, grounded in reality, where work, life, and time ultimately advance in the same movement.
The work with leather did not impose itself immediately; it was learned slowly, almost in reverse. The skills came with time—saddle stitching, edge dyeing, marking—each technique tamed one by one, until it became a language in its own right. A practice that does not project itself in urgency, but in longevity, with the simple idea that the craft is built without ever truly finishing.
The leathers adhere to this same standard. Selected from European tanneries for their quality and character, often treated with vegetable tanning from natural extracts, they evolve over time, developing a patina and transforming without degrading. Nothing superfluous, no heavy treatments, just a living material, chosen for what it becomes as much as for what it is.
