Creator of women's footwear since 1921, JB MARTIN perpetuates season after season the alliance of shoemaking expertise and creativity in the service of elegance and style. An ode to urban chic, each collection is designed to enhance the look of modern, free, and constantly moving women, day and night. The JB MARTIN Autumn-Winter 2019/2020 collection is inspired by strong, characterful women: artists, adventurers, intellectuals, entrepreneurs... Resolutely bold and feminine, vintage looks with retro silhouettes from the sixties and seventies, with the great return of patent leather boots and ankle boots, make us nostalgic. We also love shoes with more or less distant inspirations, from Parisian pavements, through the British dandy trend, to the Scottish mountains. You will notably find the famous derbies in patent or metallic leather, available in several colours: beige, black, navy blue, or ivory, but which we love just as much for their masculine-feminine touch. In 1921, Jean-Baptiste Martin, a cutter by trade, created entirely by hand, in his attic in Fougères, Brittany, the "fafiots", soft-soled children's shoes. Two years later, he expanded his workshop. He also acquired the first machines that allowed the creation of the first Louis XV pumps, the iconic feminine heeled shoe. Very quickly, and thanks to its women's heels, JB Martin became one of the most important companies in Ille et Vilaine. In 1953, the company became a family business when it was taken over by his son, Jean-Baptiste Martin. Ten years later, JB Martin established itself as one of the essential references for the Louis XV pump and achieved international recognition by finding the right balance between style, quality, and price. The brand strongly contributed to the evolution of the footwear industry in France thanks to its strategy based on technical innovation and creation. In the 1980s, JB Martin embraced ultra-femininity with the slogan "Passionately Feminine" and its emblematic national advertising campaigns. In the 1990s, the brand finally diversified to meet consumer expectations. It no longer offered only pumps but broadened its range and developed a line of chic and functional leather goods. Through its minimalist, sensual signature with graphic details, JB Martin continues to promote the culture of beautiful shoes, combining style and quality at a fair price.
