1) Introduce yourself in a few words and tell us what you do with your time when you?re not obsessing over fabrics!
Not much, to be honest! (Laughs) No, but more seriously, I handle picking out the very best pieces for our customers and showing them off to their best. I introduce them to new brands and immerse them in all the season?s hottest trends. I?ve been at Place des Tendances since it launched 15 years ago. It makes me feel old, but I think it?s a good sign!
2) How would you describe your everyday style?
I?d say it?s fairly simple, but I always try to incorporate a killer trend-led piece!
I like timeless, iconic styles like a flawless trench, the perfect ever-lasting jeans (Levis, I?m looking at you!) and an off-beat white shirt. I style them alongside whatever speaks to me in the moment: a chain necklace, a vintage belt, an eye-catching hat... I like to complicate my mornings!
3) This month, we?re focusing on new takes on office wear, and we immediately thought of you. What?s your reaction?
I have to admit that I didn?t know what to think! I don?t really have a set idea of an ?office look?. But it must be a part of my innate style for you to pick me for an interview. (Laughs). I dress the same way whether I?m going to work, heading out for the evening, or hitting the park at the weekend. I like to wear whatever I like, whenever I like, depending on my mood and instinct. Whatever your style, the point is to rock it.
4) Who?s your office wear icon?
Jenna Lyons is very inspiring. After years as the creative director at J. Crew, she?s managed to put together an understated wardrobe with a very low-key, casual feel, basics mixed in with colorful pieces that pop. She has a real eye for fashion and an unrivaled instinct for mixing and matching. She has flair in her ability to make any look her own, without it feeling costumey.
5) Classics with a twist that every woman needs in her wardrobe?
A men?s shirt:
Bellerose is perfect!
A lingerie-style top
Zadig?s is a classic!
High-waisted wide-leg jeans, ignore the low-rise trend!
A Vanessa Bruno blazer with over-sized shoulders
Vanessa Bruno , for a bit of attitude.
Pointed-toe heels from Michel Vivien (the king of shoes)!
