IKKS is a French ready-to-wear brand born in 1987. Its creator, Gérard Legoff, always wanted to name his brand "X". Unfortunately it is impossible to use only one letter in the name of a brand, so he decided to name his brand IKKS phonetically to resemble the letter X as much as possible. At the time, the brand was intended only for children with original, but comfortable clothes borrowing the style of adult fashion. It was the first ready-to-wear brand for children to integrate black into its creations, resulting in a trendy and original range, inspired by the adult world while keeping the lightness of childhood.
 
In 1999 the brand launched its first collection for women, IKKS Women, aimed at women with a natural and assertive femininity, always in search of new stylistic inspiration. It favours authentic silhouettes with sought-after details at the heart of its urban-casual dressing. The colours are renewed around neutrals, whites, blacks and mottled greys, all of which are resolutely honoured in a bohemian style boosted by an offbeat neo-baroque print.
