Tommy Hilfiger has been symbolising the preppy cool of the American way of life for over 30 years. The Tommy HILFIGER empire was not built overnight. Born in 1951 not far from New York, the young American began his career at a very young age. Already in high school, he was selling customised jeans that were a hit. Originally, the Tommy Hilfiger brand was aimed at young students on American campuses. But in the mid-1990s, the brand was adopted by rapper Snoop Dogg, who gave it a new lease of life. The brand then deliberately made its models more streetwear and looser. The famous polo shirt with the tricolour flag was an immediate success. He then decided to expand his customer base by creating lines for women, children, accessories and shoes. Since the launch of his eponymous brand in 1985, Tommy Hilfiger has become known worldwide as the pioneer of classic American cool.
