Hindbag Women

Hindbag is an ethical French brand of colorful bags and accessories, committed to the emancipation of women in India. Founded in 2015, the brand collaborates with Swami Sivananda Memorial Institute (SSMI), an Indian NGO working towards the emancipation of women in a disadvantaged district of Delhi. These women make textile accessories in exchange for a salary above the country's average, ongoing training, and a place at school for their children. Beyond its social commitment, Hindbag uses 100% eco-responsible materials with organic cotton and jute GOTS certified and recycled wool GRS certified.

The brand's origins

Hindbag was founded in 2015 by Pierre Monnier, following an initial collaboration with the NGO SSMI during a student project in 2012. The goal was to enable the NGO to generate stable income by manufacturing canvas bags for corporate communication. Today, Hindbag is the NGO's main source of income, contributing to its financial independence and its commitments to women's emancipation, children's education, and the fight against malnutrition.
