Autre Aura was born from the conviction that things can be done differently. It is also an ode to lightness and to all those who play. The brand likes to experiment with textiles and their possibilities by combining prints and patterns, exploring traditions and techniques in homage to the past and its heritage. Its objective is to create timeless, unique, and meaningful pieces. The collection is a contemporary approach to India's exceptional know-how and heritage. The state of Rajasthan is recognized as the cradle of block printing, considered the oldest textile printing technique, with the first examples dating back to the 3rd century BC. In this process, patterns are carved into wooden blocks, then transferred to the fabric by manually pressing the block with ink. Block printing is a slow and entirely manual process, which highlights the beauty of imperfection – producing highly artistic results, impossible to reproduce by other methods. Although this technique has been replaced in many cases by mechanical rotary printing which imitates the original blocks, some workshops perpetuating the traditional method remain active in the region. All of Autre Aura's printed fabrics and embroideries are entirely handmade in family workshops in Jaipur, thanks to the talent of their exceptional artisans.
