Cashmere is a noble and delicate material that loves water. A cashmere sweater should be washed regularly, after being worn two or three times.
Machine washing is suitable for cashmere sweaters. Use a wool program, and do not exceed 500 revolutions per minute for spinning.
Contrary to what one might imagine, cashmere does not tolerate fabric softener.
Hand washing is also a possible alternative, following the same instructions as for machine washing, kneading it for a few minutes without twisting it.
Cashmere sweaters should always be dried flat to retain their original shape. If the knit has some wrinkles, it can be ironed on low heat without pulling on the fabric.
