The brand was founded by the American Michael Kors, at the age of nineteen. He created his first collection for the famous New York boutique Lothar's. The specialist press incense and decided in 1981 to launch his eponymous brand sold in Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue stores. In 1999, Michael Kors received his first prize as the designer of the year for women clothing.
